Control Material
We have an extensive archive of control material. We use this to determine,
for all assays, a reference range and cut-off values for
negative and positive quality control samples. (Reference
compounds used for positive quality control are chlorpromazine, 8-methoxypsoralen,
and porphyrin.)
Cell lines are maintained in antibiotic-free conditions and
are regularly screened for mycoplasma. A range of cell lines
is available, useful not only for photosafety and skin research, but also
for the development of photoactivated therapeutics targeted to other tissues.
